Hello, my name is Kevin Jackson. I started my career in the HVAC industry some 28 years ago. I worked for myself for two years, then went to work for Smedley Plumbing and Heating in Layton, Utah (Davis County). I worked for them for 5 years and became the vice president of the heating portion of the company.
Later I found a better job opportunity at Barlow Heating and Air Conditioning. I was hired by Roger Barlow and his son-in-law, Vance Rhead. My job was to service, sell, and install HVAC equipment for them, giving me a solid background in the technical side of the business. Over the years the company grew quickly, more people were hired, and my job moved into full-time sales in 1993 – until this time, Roger and Vance did most of the selling.
Roger was preparing to retire, and he had given me a lot of advice and training—I attribute much of my success to him. Roger was a very technical, skilled engineer and a kind and thoughtful man! I will always miss his kind smile! I have a great deal of love in my heart for Roger, Vance, and their families.
Vance purchased the business from Roger before his passing, and we continued to grow. I always enjoyed working with them. Many changes took place over the 21-plus years that I worked for them.
Now, once again, a new and better opportunity has been presented to me. Over the past several years, the corporation which purchased Barlow began to veer in a direction I didn’t like, away from the standards of excellence I had become accustomed to while working with Roger and Vance. When Vance started a new company, Mountain Air, I asked if I could join the team. I am now looking forward to providing great service to all of our customers!
